The Clean Energy Council is the peak body for Australia’s renewable energy. They ensure the quality, safety and reliability of the country’s solar PV industry. They are committed to accelerating the transformation of Australia’s energy system into one that is smarter, cleaner and consumer-focused.
The Clean Energy Council administer Solar Installer Accreditations, ensuring installers and designers have the proper qualifications to install safe, reliable solar system. In 2013 they created the ‘Solar PV Retailer Code of Conduct’ which is a volenteer scheme that allows businesses selling solar systems to demonstrate their commitment to industry best practice. They also maintain an ‘Approved Product Listing’ of solar panels and inverters that meet the Australian standard.
The establishment of the Solar PV Retailer Code of Conduct means that the solar retailer sector will be monitored, and in particular companies that engage in misleading or poor sales and marketing practices.

Clean Energy Council (CEC) is driving Australia's transformation to a smarter, cleaner energy system. It is the regulating body for the Solar Industry and the peak body representing Australia's clean energy sector.
The CEC is an industry association made up of more than 550 member companies operating in the fields of renewable energy and energy efficiency. Members are involved in the development or deployment of clean energy technologies such as bioenergy, cogeneration, energy efficiency, geothermal, hydro, solar, solar hot water, marine energy and wind.
The CEC is an incorporated not-for-profit association based in Melbourne and operating nationally. They are funded principally by membership fees, with additional income generated by events and activities such as industry accreditation programs.
